The 86” Flat/Open Headache Rack gives your rig maximum storage space without adding too much weight. This 86 inch-wide model gives you serious room for gear but leaves you lots of room for trailer swing. Lightweight, high-strength aluminum construction helps reduce fuel costs and avoids putting a dent in your truck's carrying capacity. Set it up for your truck by starting with the base model or upgrade with chain racks, trays, and your choice of windows: no window, jail bar, or EZ-view for a clear view. As stated in the NSC Standard 10: Cargo Securement, Divsion 5 – Front End Structures – Application 23(3) A cab shield (Headache rack) is not a front end structure or part of a cargo securement system. Therefore NO D.O.T. requirements/approvals are applicable.

• Headache racks cannot meet the requirements of CFR 393.114.a. Cargo must be in contact with the front end structure for the CFR 393.114.a to apply.

Yes. Iconic offers upwards of 25 standard catalogue Flat Headache Racks, including a variation of widths, and standard accessories, including combinations of a jailbar window, chain hangers, and split or full chain trays. Our wide range of accessories, including lights, cabinets, lower side boxes, beacon brackets, and more, can be customized through our headache rack builder or directly with our product experts

The three standard widths are 70”, 76”, and 86”, and all standard headache racks are 68” high. All standard Flat Racks have a 1/8″ checkerplate aluminum body.

We offer a 17” U-Bolt, a 21” U-Bolt, and a “quick-mount kit.” Iconic suggests that when possible, users should opt for and install the 21” U-Bolt kit.

The width of the headache rack depends entirely on the width of the truck cab, along with any interferences that may be behind the truck cab (stacks, for example). To determine the needed width, a measurement of the cab width should be taken. The three standard sizes we offer are 70”, 76”, and 86” wide, with 76” wide being the most common.
