The 16" Big Mouth Step Box hits that sweet spot when you need more room than the 12" wide Big Mouth, but don’t have the space for a larger setup. It’s just the right fit for those medium-tight frame areas that usually get ignored. With the Big Mouth’s innovative design, you get a full-size opening that’s 50% bigger than your average step box. You’ll never get stuck fighting to get your tools out or cramming stuff in. It’s made from strong, lightweight ⅛” marine-grade aluminum that holds up to road conditions but won’t weigh you down. A durable rubber bulb seal keeps your gear dry and clean, and the step tread adds grip when you’re climbing up or down. Whether you go for a smooth or checkerplate lid, this box looks sharp and works hard. If you’ve got a little space and a lot to carry, the 16" Big Mouth is ready to pull its weight.

Big Mouth Step Boxes are to be mounted with Iconic’s 24” Steel L-Mounting Bracket Set (PN 1900). The brackets include a variety of pre-drilled holes, and the brackets come powder coated in a black finish.

Yes. Iconic offers Big Mouth Step Boxes, both with a smooth or checkerplate lid, in the following widths: 12”, 16”, 18”, 22”, 24”, 30”, and 36”. Custom sizing can be requested but will have a lead time. We stock many different standard sizes.

No. The Big Mouth Step Box is manufactured in such a way that no bracket or shock is required to hold the door open. The door is manufactured to sit open on its own while still being able to clear a deck plate or frame rail.
